The Council of Angiris

Council of Archangels, who rules the angels of heaven. Council seat is the legendary Silver City.

• Tyrael: Archangel and protector of the people. Founder of the Horadric. To save the people, Tyrael is for mortals and waives his angel wings.
• Itherael: Neutral - Angel of equilibrium
• Auriel: female angel / fighting for the preservation of Sanctuary and accompany you in the 4th Act of Diablo III. Desired by the Imperius extinction of Sanctuario was prevented by Auriel and Tyrael's votes in the Council of Angels.
• Imperious: and is known as the angel of war, pushes the case of Heaven on Tyrael and the Nephalem (people) for the destruction of Sanctuary.
• Malthael: Angel of Death
• Inarius: Former lover of Lilith and father of Nephalem (ancestors / people). Brother of Tyrael. Banished from the Council derAngiris.

Nephalem (Uhrahnen):

The Nephalem emerged from partnerships of demons and angels.

• Rathma / Linarian (son of Inarius & Lilith) was the founder of the Necromancer
• Bul Kathos is the ancestor of the barbarians
• Esu is the ancestor of the sorceresses (Zann Esu Clan)
• Vasily

Peoples in Sanctuary

The people of Sanctuary are descendants of Nephalem, the descendants of angels and demons. Here is a list of some people:

Ammuit Clan
Bear Tribe: barbarian tribe with a preference for billets.
Brotherhood of the Bough
Crane Tribe: Nomadic horsemen, famously known for the mounted warrior ist.Heimat (presumably) the "Dry Steppes" in the north-east.
Ennead Clan
Henknoc Tribe
Horadrim: The Horadric were powerful mage who managed to imprison the great evil in the soul stones.
The clan was founded by the Archangel Tyrael.
Mephisto was in Kehjistan of the Horadric defeated / captured and imprisoned in the near Kurast Temple of Light. There his soul stone of Zakarum followers was strictly guarded.

The Horadric mage Tal Rasha decided in battle with the Lord of Destruction (Baal) in Lut Gholein to sacrifice themselves for the banishment of Baal, as necessary to the soul stone was unfortunately destroyed in combat. The remaining Horadrim pursued Diablo and finally defeated him in battle. His soul stone was hidden deep inside a labyrinth under the Cathedral of Tristram. Unfortunately, this cost many lives. Deckard Cain is now the last descendant of this once powerful clan.

• Tal Rasha was a powerful magician who banished Mephisto in his body.
• Radament after his death was a servant of hell.
• Jered Cain (ancestor of Deckard Cain). Jered Tal Rasha helped in the capture of Mephisto and Baal. After the Tal Rasha banished in Mephisto himself, Jared led the Horadric to Khanduras to hunt Diablo. After he was defeated, he hid the soul stone in the caves beneath Tristram (Diablo 1).

Hand of Zakarum: Fanatical Paladin Order, which was going violently against infidels. He was later corrupted by Mephisto and abused for his purposes.
Knights of Khanduras: followers of King Leoric. Whose son was kidnapped in Diablo first
Knights of Westmarch: Paladin Order. In Diablo 1 were sent by the King Leoric knight to fight the Knights of Westmarch. This invasion failed, so that weakened the army of Khanduras itself. The Paladins were originally fanatical believers who wanted "infidels" convert.
Order of the Gauntlet
Shadow Wolf Tribe: barbarian tribe with a penchant for axes.
Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye: guardian of the monastery (Akt1 Diablo2)
Skeld Clan
Snake Tribe: barbarian tribe with a preference for spears.
Taan Clan: Taan Clan mainly deals with protection spells / Skatsimi rites. The most prominent Taan probably Ormus, who was instrumental in the wards of Kurast.
Tribe of Thunder: barbarian clan, who invented his whirlwind attack in the observation of hurricanes.
Viz-Jaq'taar Clan of Assassins. They hunt renegade mages and bring them down. The clan was probably after the battle between Horazon and Bartuc (Vizjerei Clan)
Vizjerei Clan: mage clan. (Sorcerer class from Diablo 1) with great influence in the fields of "Anarock" and "Kejistan". The palace in Lut Gholein was a stronghold of the Vizjerei long time ago.
Known Clan Members are Horazon and Bartuc. Bartuc was later destroyed by his own people and only brought back by Baal. (In D2 LOD he was councilor at the servants of destruction).
Zakarum: Widespread in eastern religion.
Zann Esu Clan: witches / sorceresses Clan (Diablo 2 Sorcs) over the few details are known.
